A terrible accident happened at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant 33 years ago – one of the nuclear reactors exploded. To date, an exclusion zone is located within a radius of 30 kilometers from the crash site. The city of Pripyat, located 3 kilometers from the nuclear power plant, was evacuated in 1986, and life stopped there. Since then, nature has turned into a real jungle. Trees grew in buildings, and shrubs encircled iron structures. We suggest you look at the photos taken by people who visited Chernobyl recently.

These photos from Chernobyl leave us speechless. It was a terrible tragedy and a lot of people suffered and still suffer from this catastrophe. If you’d like to clear up your eyes with nicer things, have a look at our ranking of the 12 most beautiful islands in the world!

The events happening back in 1986 also inspired a recent TV series by the name of the Nuclear plant, which we definitely recommend watching, it’s very realistic and relates at perfection what happened during these days!
